ARTE FIERA OBSERVATORY

Luca Lo Pinto (b. 1981), the artistic director of MACRO – Museo d’arte contemporanea di Roma, was the curator of Kunsthalle Wien from 2014 to 2019 and is a co-founder of NERO magazine and publisher. His essays have been published in many catalogues and international magazines and he has edited many books on artists. In 2012 he curated the book Documenta 1955-2012.
Luca Lo Pinto is one of the protagonists of PLAYLIST, scheduled on our website next January 21-24.

My most vivid memories of Bologna are associated with Link and Netmage.
What these two festivals created (to some extent by the same people) was enormously generative - culturally and otherwise - for my career.
When I think about Bologna, I associate it with Cyber Punk, industry, fog, occupations, and the live performance by Russell Haswell and Florian Hecker in 2008. Everything else is noise.
