Gallery Directors

Galleria Poggiali was born in Florence in 2016 as the natural evolution of Galleria Poggiali e Forconi. Following an initial period in which the gallery focused on an investigation of the 20th century, in the early 2000s, with the contribution of Alessando’s eldest son Lorenzo, the gallery turned its attention to established contemporary artists such as Enzo Cucchi, Luigi Ontani and Gilberto Zorio. In 2009, the gallery opened a branch on a site outside the centre of Pietrasanta, Tuscany, a town that has long attracted artists from all over the world thanks to the consolidated tradition of working marble. It was within this context that a relationship was established with Fabio Viale, a Turin-based artist working with marble, a recent winner of the Premio Cairo and a featured artist at the Museo del Novecento in Milan, which has led to a number of solo shows. Galleria Poggiali inaugurated its new Milan space in Foro Buonaparte in the January of 2018 with the exhibition Lucky Hei.
