Gallery Directors

Galleria Torbandena, founded in 1964 in Trieste, deals with the 20th century European and American art, as well as with international contemporary art. Headed by Andy Rosada and now by his son Alessandro the gallery opened in 2011 a second space in town, Torbandena Projects, in an old palace in front of the sea. Torbandena has been participating in the most important art fairs: Art Basel, Art Cologne, ARCO Madrid, ART MIAMI, and since more than 30 years is present in Arte Fiera Bologna. The gallery is collaborating with museums and international foundations with projects referred to modern and contemporary art. Recently with the Leopoldmuseum in Vienna for the Zoran Music anthologic exhibition. Referring to the 20th century artists, the gallery has dedicated several shows to abstract painters as Afro, Emilio Vedova, Hans Hartung, Mark Tobey and Tancredi. In the figurative scene, to artists as Giorgio Morandi, George Grosz, Arturo Nathan, Gao Xingjian and Zoran Music, moreover to works on paper by Picasso, Miró, Klee, Feininger and many others. In the last years the focus has been more concentrated on contemporary art, showing in Trieste, for the first time, works by Anselm Kie
