The MLB is a space inspired by international models, with a clear mission aimed at an empathic dissemination of knowledge of contemporary art and a strong curatorial vocation. It is based in a Renaissance palace in front of the Ferrara Castle: each artist is invited to design a project thematically inspired by the exhibition of the nearby Palazzo dei Diamanti (in a dialogue between modern and contemporary art), or by nationally renowned events. Each exhibition is illustrated to visitors through guided tours. In 2017, on the occasion of ten years of activity, the MLB opened a second summer office in Porto Cervo. MLB pursues two precise curatorial lines: artists who use photography by contaminating it with other languages and artists who combine conceptuality and manual skills. To enhance its artists, the MLB is in constant contact with various museums and pursues a careful loyalty in the world of collecting and printing.
