Chiara Vecchiarelli is a writer, art critic and curator. She is the curator of Special Projects for Arte Fiera in Bologna (Performing the Gallery, 2018; Time Specific Artist Lectures, Site Specific Artist Lectures, 2017). She has devised the programme of lectures and screenings The Image-Thing at Palazzo Grassi, Venice (2016), and has curated exhibitions and performance programmes in several museum and art institutions. She was the curator of the exhibition programme of the Emily Harvey Foundation, NYC (2013-2012), co-curated a section of the public program of the Istanbul Biennale (2015), and was the Curatorial Researcher for dOCUMENTA (13) as well as the Curator of its Research Section, documenta, Kassel (2012-2009). She was one of the five curators of the Furla Art Prize in 2015. She is one of the ten members of the Permanent Forum for Italian Contemporary Art Committee. She has written numerous essays, articles and edited books, and she is currently a PhD candidate in philosophy at the École normale supérieure, Paris, where she is undertaking a research about the ontogenetic function of the image.
