Cathryn Drake

Cathryn Drake is a freelance writer and editor who has contributed articles to Artforum, Frieze, Artnet, Men’s Vogue, Time, and Wall Street Journal, among other publications. She has written exhibition catalogue essays on artists including Betty Woodman, Dan Attoe, Pieter Vermeersch, Jef Verheyen, Aleksandra Urban, and Leonard Qylafi. Formerly an editor at the Museum of Modern Art and Copy chief of the design magazine Metropolis, she currently edits publications for Yale University School of Architecture as well as various art historians and institutions. In 2016 she curated the first version of The Presence of Absence, or the Catastrophe Theory, at Izolyatsia, in Kiev, Ukraine. An expanded version of the show will open at NiMAC, in Nicosia, Cyprus, on February 17, 2018.
