Metronom is based in Modena, founded by Marcella Manni in 2008. Since its inception, the cores of Metronom activities are photography and video art, focusing on a selection of young artists and collectives, mainly presenting their newest research. Among the numerous activities organized by Metronom, in collaboration with Italian and International institutions, exhibitions, panel discussions (generazionecritica.it), residency programs, workshops and publications, with the aim of exploring the roles of image within contemporary culture. Among the remarkable exhibition projects, Close Observer (2012), first italian solo show by Sanna Kannisto; Rainbow Variations and other works (2014), first European show by the Japanese Taisuke Koyama; Big Sky Hunting by Alberto Sinigaglia, (2015); Es geht einfach um Nummern by Fabrizio Bellomo (2015); wunderCAMERA (2012); Through the looking glass (2016); ANTOLOGIA (2017). In 2018 Metronom will move to a new venue in Modena city center.
