Gallery Directors

The Galleria Anna Marra was founded in 2013 and has become an important touchstone for contemporary art in Rome. It is located in Rome's ancient ghetto. The space is characterised by its minimalist architecture that facilitates the bringing out of the essential and rigorous artistic characteristics of the works chosen for exhibitions. It focuses on valorising emerging talents and artists in the middle of their career, the gallery avails itself of the scientific expertise of curators with whom it has elaborated projects. It promotes artists by organising exhibitions in its rooms and in public institutions, as well as in the publication of catalogues of their recent works. Though much attention is given to the contemporary art scene in Italian, the gallery also aims to bring to Italy other artistic experiences. Thanks to collaboration with galleries and curators in New York, in 2016 it initiated a cycle of exhibitions dedicated to American artists, with the objective of offering a carefully calculated glimpse of what is occurring on the other side of the ocean.
