Pad. 25 Stand B/5
Vistmare opened in 2001 (in a late seventeenth-century building in Pescara) with “Camera Italia”, curated by Giacinto di Pietrantonio, where ten artists confronted the idea of ‘rooms’, including Garutti and Spalletti whose installations remain on permanent display. Site-specific art has always been an important focus, for example in “Tre momenti separate in una contemplazione” (2007) an existing work by Joseph Kosuth was joined and modified by a work by Spalletti and a painting by Giorgio Morandi, and following the 2015 Eloise Hawser/Sol Lewitt show, Lewitt’s “Wall Drawing #460” remained as a permanent installation. The current exhibition features Kosuth’s large-scale installation “Maxima Proposito”, dedicated to the poet Ovid. The aim of the gallery’s director Benedetta Spalletti is to propose a mix of artists from different generations working in a variety of styles: M.Airò, G.Anselmo, R.Barba, A.Franceschini, M.Jodice, J.Kosuth, A.Linke, E.Spalletti, H.Steinbach, J.Vercruysse.
