Il Castello gallery was founded in 1964 in via Ciovasso, Milan, immediately it deals the most famous Italian and international artists of the twentieth-century. After moving in 1968 in its current location in Via Brera 16, it focuses on the historical periods "Corrente" and the “Avant-garde” of the 60s. It organizes exhibitions dedicated to Ottone Rosai, 1968 Filippo de Pisis, 1968, Felice Carena, 1969, Felice Casorati, 1970, Victor Vasarely, 1973 Ardengo Soffici, 1979, Mario Sironi, 1980. At the end of the ‘80 Guido Conte sons, Adriano and Marcello, they begin to take care and continuing to host great exhibitions as Gianni Dova, 1997, Giulio Turcato, 1999, Roberto Crippa, 2000, Piero Dorazio, 2003, Joan Miró, 2006, Lucio Fontana, 2007, Giuseppe Capogrossi, 2008, Victor Vasarely, 2009, Andy Warhol 2011, Keith Haring 2011, Damien Hirst, 2013, Mimmo Rotella, 2014, Marrocco – Eielson, 2015, Sebastian Matta, 2016, Valerio Adami, 2016, Hans Hartung, 2017. Today, remaining faithful to the tradition after more than fifty years, the gallery continues to organize group and solo exhibitions.
