Galleria Mazzoli is one of Italy's most well known galleries. Founded in the 1970s by Emilio Mazzoli, it represents some of the most important artists of the last decades. In 1981, the gallery held the world's first solo exhibition of Jean Michel Basquiat, and concurrently found international success with the promotion of the Transavanguardia movement. In the last years it continued making a mark on the Italian scene introducing American artists such as Roberto Longo, Alex Katz, Ross Bleckner, David Salle, Peter Halley, Gregory Crewdson, and William Anastasi, always keeping an eye on the younger generation.
