La mostra collettiva Until, attualmente esposta nella galleria di Pietrasanta dopo le tappe di Milano e Verona, riunisce opere di quattro artisti (Riccardo de Marchi, Marco Gastini, Franco Guerzoni e Marco Tirelli), attraverso i quali la galleria intende indagare ancora una volta la pittura come linguaggio aperto, che sconfina dalla tela, utilizzando materiali e supporti diversi. Il titolo Until apre dunque a una dialettica tra il lavoro più progettato di Tirelli e De Marchi e quello più emotivo di Gastini e Guerzoni. Scrive Marco Tonelli nel testo del catalogo: «È forse la natura intima del tempo ad accomunare le opere dei quattro artisti, nel loro passare dalla materia alla pittura, dal nulla alla forma. Un tempo cadenzato come uno spartito astratto da De Marchi, enunciato come un enigma da Tirelli, accompagnato come un processo alchemico da Gastini e atteso come un’epifania nelle stratificazioni di Guerzoni. In tutti i casi si tratta comunque di ripensare l’essenza della superficie pittorica senza volerla abbandonare né negare».

The group exhibition Until, currently on display in the gallery of Pietrasanta after being exhibited in the venues of Milan and Verona, brings together the work of four artists (Riccardo de Marchi, Marco Gastini, Franco Guerzoni and Marco Tirelli) in order to take another look at painting as an open language that goes beyond the borders of the canvas and exploits a variety of materials and supports. The title, Until, opens up a dialectic between Tirelli and De Marchi’s carefully planned artmaking and Gastini and Guerzoni’s more emotional approach. In his catalogue essay, Marco Tonelli writes: «It is perhaps the intimate nature of time that the four artists’ works have in common, in their passage from materials to painting, from nothing to form. De Marchi turns time into the rythm of an abstract score, Tirelli claims its status to be that of an enigma, Gastini accompanies it as an alchemic process, Guerzoni waits for it to manifest itself like an epiphany within his stratifications. In all these cases, it’s a matter of rethinking the essence of the pictorial surface without either abandoning or denying it».
