EUROMOBIL UNDER 30 PRIZE, THE YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS’ #CONTEMPORARY YOUNG AWARD ON THE THEME OF WORK, VIDEOINSIGHT FOR ART CONDUCIVE TO MENTAL AND PHYSICAL WELLBEING, AND THE ROTARY AWARD FOR THE MOST CREATIVE INSTALLATION

This afternoon at BolognaFiere the winners of the awards during Arte Fiera 2015 were announced and handed over.

Alessia Xausa, an artist shown by the Thomas Brambilla Gallery, is the winner of the ninth edition of the Euromobil Group Under 30 Prize offered by the Lucchetta brothers. Her work “Untitled” of 2015 will become part of Euromobil’s art collection and exhibited at the Group headquarters in Falzè di Piave in northeast Italy. Executed in acrylic and graphite on canvas, the work has an extreme delicacy of tone and sensitive figurative expressivity.

Now that the Jury has had its say, the general public can express an opinion. Anyone wanting to give their own view and vote for a particular work can do so on the Group website: www.gruppoeuromobil.it Comments and votes will be collected until 12 noon on 2 February, after which a second prize - adjudicated by the public - will be announced.

The #Contemporary Young award offered by young Bolognese entrepreneurs for the first time at Arte Fiera 2015 and open to all artists under 40 showing at the fair, whatever their expressive medium, went to Eugenio Tibaldi with his project “Acque chete” created in partnership with poet Tommaso Pincio (Umberto Di Marino di Napoli). The jury, which included Marcella Beccaria, curator of Castello di Rivoli Contemporary Art Museum, motivated its choice as follows: “for the ability to trigger dialogue between two fundamental aspects of the Italian tradition: industriousness and the work ethic, and the deep cultural and artistic roots present in every Italian town”. The theme for the prize was ‘Art is Work - Is Work Art?’. The aim: to identify an artwork by a young artist expressing the concept of work in an original artistic manner. The Young Entrepreneur Group with its chairman Gianguido Riva is committed to purchasing the work, which will become part of the Giovani Imprenditori di Unindustria Bologna collection. The aim is to gradually establish an Association art collection and at the same time extend art patronage to young artists. The Association is also committed to supporting Arte Fiera at future editions.

A further novelty of this 39th  edition of Arte Fiera is the Fondazione Arte Scienza Videoinsight Award for the work shown at the fair that best contributes to mental and physical wellbeing in the observer. Three works tied for first place: Taus Makhacheva (Moscow, 1983), Karakul, video, 2007, Laura Bulian, Milan (a Russian artist shown at the “Too Early, Too Late” exhibition curated by  Marco  Scotini  at  Bologna's  National  Art  Gallery);  Shadi  Ghadirian  (Teheran,  1974),  Miss Butterfly, 2011, photography, Officine dell’Immagine, Milan (an Iranian artist shown at the “Too Early, Too Late” exhibition curated by Marco Scotini at Bologna's National Art Gallery); Vlad Nanca (Bucarest, 1979), Nadia, video, 2014, Boccanera, Trent.

Two Additional Awards were also given: a Special Videoinsight® Prize for Italian Artists, won by Beatrice Pediconi (Rome, 1972), Untitled video 2015, Z20 Sara Zanin, Rome; and a Special Videoinsight® Prize for the exhibition Too Early, Too Late, won by Hiwa K (Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, 1975), Star Cross 2009/See Saw 2006, Prometeo Gallery, Lucca. The Foundation will acquire all five winning works.

The fourth edition of the Valle del Samoggia Rotary Award for the most creative installation on show at Arte Fiera aims to promote contemporary art culture especially among the young generations and disseminate Rotary Club principles of friendship and brotherhood among peoples. This year the winning installation was by Silvia Camporesi (Planasia 2014) shown by the Sara Zanin Gallery, Rome, commended for its “constant commitment to seeking out new expressive artistic forms and being open to emerging artists, promoting the culture of contemporary art especially among the young generations”. This year the award was given in close collaboration with International Rotary District 2072 Emilia-Romagna and San Marino, Rotaract Bologna and the Libera Accademia di Studi Caravaggeschi ‘Francesco Maria Cardinal del Monte’.
