Arte Fiera is the most consolidated international exhibition of modern and contemporary Italian art. Next year’s event is set to take place from the 27th -30th January 2017 at BolognaFiere. As well as a long history, the event has also enjoyed a constant vitality. Since 1974, the year of its foundation, Arte Fiera has demonstrated a great capacity for analysis that has been able to accompany artists and movements in global art.
Arte Fiera continues to perform this role today both with the new generation of artists and with experimental approaches. Providing space for the established maestri, but also for Italian artists often making their debuts, many of whom have gone on to achieve international recognition, becoming protagonists in the art market and in some of the world’s most important museums and institutions.
Arte Fiera is synonymous with openness, liberty and participation. Arte Fiera is an opportunity for gallery owners, collectors, curators, artists and art enthusiasts can meet at the most representative and complete Italian fair for modern and contemporary art and the most influential event on an international level.
Moreover, the event expands around the city; in Bologna thousands of people fill the streets of the historic centre, which is brought to life with hundreds of art initiatives created in collaboration with the Bologna City Council and the city’s museums, galleries and cultural institutions.
Initiatives begin in the weeks preceding the event and grow to a crescendo during the days of the Fair, culminating in the all-night event - the White Night of Art - that turns Bologna into the capital of Italian art.
The 41th edition of Arte Fiera will be presented at the press conference next November 22 at Mudec - Museo delle Culture di Milano.
