Italo Rota

Italo Rota graduated from Politecnico in Milan. After winning the competition for the interiors of the Musée d’Orsay, he moved to Paris in the late 1980s and worked on renovating the Modern Art Museum at the Pompidou Centre with Gae Aulenti. In the ‘90s he returned to Milan, where he opened his own firm, and has worked on architectural projects in Italy and abroad. Other recent works include the Reggio Emilia City Museums, the new Elatech industrial complex in Brembilla, the new Noosphere Pavilion at the Milan Triennial, and Art and Foods at Milan EXPO 2015. He has received numerous awards, including the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture for Culture and Leisure Time, the New York Landmarks Conservancy Award, and the Grand Prix de l’Urbanisme (France).
