Re_setting è la prima mostra che prende vita negli spazi di via P. Scura per la riapertura dopo il lockdown da Covid-19. Re_setting è l’evento che la galleria Shazar organizza per ricominciare, per guardare al futuro recuperando parte di ciò che è stato sospeso e rimandato. Gli otto artisti coinvolti, Giovanni Battimiello, Monica Biancardi, Simone Cametti, Saghar Daeiri, Rocco Dubbini, Lello Lopez, Anna Raimondo, Paola Risoli, propongono le opere che la galleria avrebbe dovuto esporre nelle fiere o nelle personali annullate durante questo periodo. Inoltre, durante questi due mesi alcuni artisti hanno prodotto nuovi lavori, come il video Visor in a bottle di Paola Risoli, o come la scultura di Simone Cametti, lavoro ripreso da una residenza a Mosca di qualche anno fa e prodotto oggi: un coltello, simbolo di una parte di realtà che deve essere recisa e/o eliminata. Sono stati prodotti durante il periodo di quarantena anche i due piccoli lavori del progetto Paesaggio morale di Lello Lopez, mentre Anna Raimondo ha riadattato il suo lavoro di documenta 14 chiedendo a una cartomante di predire il futuro della sua arte e le conseguenze sociali ed economiche della pandemia. Così Giuseppe Compare della Shazar Gallery parla di questo nuovo inizio: «Dopo gli eventi seguiti al 9 marzo, al pari di tutte le gallerie italiane, ho dovuto annullare mostre e partecipazioni a fiere e rimodulare la programmazione attuale e futura. Parte di essa è stata spostata online su diverse piattaforme, modalità che continuerà ad essere in attivo perché ormai è parte integrante di un agire contemporaneo: tuttavia, ritengo come molti che l’arte abbia bisogno di essere vissuta e guardata da vicino, in modo particolare quella che non è ancora perfettamente assimilata dal grande pubblico».

Re_setting is the first exhibition that comes to life in the spaces of via P. Scura for the reopening after the lockdown from Covid-19. Re_setting is the event that the Shazar gallery has organized to start again, to look at the future by recovering part of what has been suspended and postponed. The eight artists involved, Giovanni Battimiello, Monica Biancardi, Simone Cametti, Saghar Daeiri, Rocco Dubbini, Lello Lopez, Anna Raimondo, Paola Risoli, propose the works that the gallery should have exhibited at fairs or solo shows canceled during this period. In addition, during these two months some artists have produced new works such as the video Visor in a bottle by Paola Risoli, or the sculpture of Simone Cametti, a work conceived during a residence in Moscow a few years ago and produced today: a knife, symbol of a part of reality that must be severed and / or eliminated. During the quarantine period, the two small works of Lello Lopez's Moral Landscape series were also produced. Anna Raimondo has adapted her work made for documenta 14 by asking a fortune teller to predict the future of her art and the social and economic consequences of the pandemic. Giuseppe Compare of the Shazar Gallery talks about this new beginning: «After the events that followed March 9, like all Italian gallerists, I had to cancel exhibitions and participation in fairs and reshape the current and future programming. Part of it has been moved online on different platforms, a modality that will continue to be active because it is now an integral part of our contemporary activity: however, like many others, I believe that art needs to be experienced and looked at closely, particularly art that has not been entirely assimilated by the general public yet».
