La galleria Paci contemporary è lieta di presentare l'esposizione dedicata a Erwin Olaf, attualmente in mostra nella galleria di Porto Cervo fino al 30 Settembre. Si tratta dell'anteprima esclusiva della grande mostra antologica dedicata al fotografo olandese in previsione per il prossimo autunno nella sede di Brescia. Per la prima volta lo spettatore avrà l'occasione di ammirare una panoramica completa del suo lavoro, dagli esordi con la famosa serie Chessmen fino all'ultimo progetto, Palm Springs, tra i primi realizzati fuori dallo studio. Classe 1959, Olaf ha fatto del bianco e nero il suo cavallo di battaglia, dando vita a serie entrate nella storia della fotografia, ben presto accompagnate anche da quelle a colori tra le quali Paradise, Grief, Hope, Dawn, Dusk, Rain, Berlin... Fotografo d'eccellenza, tra i più apprezzati nella scena artistica contemporanea, l'olandese Erwin Olaf è da considerarsi uno dei migliori interpreti della moderna fotografia di ritratto: è noto in tutto il mondo per uno stile fotografico dominato da atmosfere misteriose e contemplative. Famoso per le sue mise en scène e le sue composizioni teatrali, Olaf intreccia nei suoi scatti narrazioni complesse e drammatiche. Le sue opere colpiscono per la stranezza, la volontà di provocare, per il senso di solitudine e di irrequietezza: sono barlumi di verità, squarci nel muro che svelano l'imperfezione e la finzione di un mondo apparentemente perfetto. La mostra sarà accompagnata da un nuovo, prestigioso volume su Erwin Olaf a cura di Walter Guadagnini, prodotto dalla galleria ed edito da Silvana.

Paci contemporary gallery is pleased to present the exhibition dedicated to Erwin Olaf, currently on display at Porto Cervo gallery until September 30th. This is the exclusive preview of the great anthological exhibition focused on the Dutch photographer and scheduled for next autumn in Brescia. For the first time, the viewer will now have the opportunity to admire a complete overview of Olaf's work, from the debut with the famous series Chessmen, to the last project Palm Springs, among the first made outside the studio. Class 1959, Olaf made black and white his trademark, giving life to series that become part of the history of photography, soon accompanied also by those in color, among which Paradise, Grief, Hope, Dawn, Dusk, Rain, Berlin... Photographer of excellence, among the most popular in the contemporary art scene, the Dutch Erwin Olaf is considered one of the best interpreters of modern portrait photography: it is known throughout the world for a photographic style that is dominated by mysterious and contemplative atmospheres. Famous for his mise en scène and his theatrical compositions, Olaf intertwines complex and dramatic narratives in his shots. His works strike for the strangeness, the will to provoke, for the sense of loneliness and restlessness: these feelings are glimmers of truth, gashes in the wall that reveal the imperfection and the fiction of a seemingly perfect world. The exhibition will be accompanied by a new and prestigious volume on Erwin Olaf by Walter Guadagnini, produced by the gallery and published by Silvana Editoriale.
