Cecilia Matteucci Lavarini
Cecilia Matteucci Lavarini: Tuscan by birth, Bolognese for love, Citizen of the world. I’d collect everything: I have a small, carefully selected collection of 20th-century visual art that I gathered with my husband. My two Morandis have been in museums throughout the world. I have a few pieces of antique art, including a wooden sculpture of the child Mary. I have a small collection of Murano glass and Lalique crystals. My kitchen is overflowing with a collection of teapots, but my largest collection is of Fashion articles. I’ve already donated 309 of my more than 3000 pieces to the Costume Gallery of the Pitti Palace in Florence. Some of my gowns have been exhibited in major shows: in Bologna at Palazzo d’Accursio, at the Costume Gallery in Florence, at the Museum of the City of Rimini, at Fortuny in Venice, at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, at the Art Science Museum in Singapore, and at Palazzo Venezia and Castelsantangelo in Rome.
