Galleria de’ Foscherari was founded in the early 1960s with a cultural program laid out along two separate but closely linked themes: a close look at critically established tradition, with solo shows by Grosz, Morandi, Ernst, Calder, Klee, and an interest in experimentation, with key events focused on Gnoli, Manzoni, Christo, Tancredi, Novelli, Twombly, Fioroni, Angeli, Tacchi, Festa, Pozzati, Schifano, and Sartelli. Among the most important shows are those dedicated to: American Pop Art, in ’67; Arte Povera, in ‘68, curated by Germano Celant and in ‘74, “Eros Ghenos Thanatos”, curated by Alberto Boatto. Most recently, the solo shows by Piacentino, Parmiggiani, Calzolari, Nitsch, Nunzio, and Zorio; the Calzolari, Fabro, Parmiggiani happening titled “Essenziale all’Arte”, and “Berlin 192010”, with works by Grosz and Vitone, and a show that pairs an unquestioned master, Morandi, with two artists from another generation, Calzolari and Parmiggiani.
