Galleria Il Mappamondo was founded over 40 years ago by Marco Conte. It has always dealt with modern and contemporary art, selling and promoting the works of up-and-coming artists alongside with acknowledged ones on both a national and international scale from its premises in Via Borgonuovo 2, Milan. The organization of exhibitions in the gallery space and attendance to art fairs and meetings, all reflect the direction which Galleria Il Mappamondo has taken, one of drawing from the main line of contemporary art by closely following those masters who have either reworked the features of the language of art or have discovered new potential within it. Today, the gallery, under the guidance of Alessandro, Marco Conte’s son, continues in the same direction, offering its interpretation of the latest art trends, yet always focusing closely on those artists who have shaped the history of art across the twentieth century.
