Gallery Directors

Founded in 1995, Boxart has shown important representatives of contemporary Italian art: Giulio Turcato, Mario Schifano, Sandro Chia, Emilio Isgrò, Marco Cingolani, Andrea Facco. After a decade the gallery opened up to international artists, as the Gao Brothers and Kim Joon; its projects expanded to the museum scale with: the Musée d’Art Moderne in Saint-Étienne, France, with Mart in Rovereto ("Hermann Nitsch. 64.Malaktion", 2012), the Museo H.C. Andersen ("Liu Bolin. Hiding in Italy", 2012 and "Andrea Mastrovito. Here The Dreamers Sleep", 2015) and the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna in Rome ("Emilio Isgrò. Modello Italia 2013-1964", 2013), the Centro Internazionale Scavi Scaligeri ("Steve Sabella. Archaeology of the Future", 2014) and AMO, the Arena Museo Opera of Verona ("Hermann Nitsch e il teatro", 2016). In 2015 came the "2x10" exhibition, celebrating the gallery’s twentieth anniversary, Liu Bolin’s "Migrants" project was launched in Sicily and Mauro Fiorese’s "Treasure Rooms", which portrays museum vaults.
