Gallery Directors

Galleria Accademia was founded in 1969 in Turin by Pietro Barsi. Since that time it has been situated in the historic location of via Accademia Albertina 3. Today, Pietro’s sons Francesca and Luca continue the family tradition organising public exhibitions and following Modern&Post-War International Art. Important exhibitions of the works of Dorazio, Accardi and Perilli witness this interest. The Gallery has always followed the work of Mimmo Rotella and it was also offered in comparison with Andy Warhol’s production. As far as international masters are concerned, the exhibitions of Natalia Goncharova and Michail Larionov and the retrospective about Co.Br.A. group stand out for the accurate work of research needed. Over the last few years, the Galleria Accademia has acted a leading role in the re-booting of the School of Piazza del Popolo, gathering the works by Giosetta Fioroni – with whom the gallery has a direct relationship – and the works of the other artists of the School: Schifano, Angeli and Tano Festa.
