In 1986 Alessandra Bonomo's gallery opened in Rome on piazza Sant'Apollonia in Trastevere, with a show of four paintings by Mario Schifano made for the opening. It has become a meeting point for international artists of different generations such as Alessandro Twombly, Alighiero Boetti, Nunzio, Luigi Ontani, Sol LeWitt, Richard Tuttle, Tristano di Robilant and Christopher Wool, some of them showing in Italy for the first time such as Fishli/Weiss, Douglas Gordon and Ugo Rondinone. From 2002 the gallery opened in via del Gesu' with a show by Elger Esser on Venice. Among the most significant exhibitions: the installation of wall drawings by Sol LeWitt, Pat Steir and David Tremlett, the works of Marisa Merz, the installation of Adam McEwen and Marc Quinn, Graeme Todd, Kazuko Miyamoto, Juliao Sarmento, Hamish Fulton, Jiri Dokoupil. Recently, the gallery exhibited Harry Adams, Barry McGee and Clare Rojas, Jose Angelino, Francisco Tropa, Drugu Choegyal Rinpoche and the installation of "Minds of their Own" by Joan Jonas.
