Barbara Lo BiancoBABS ART GALLERY was founded in 2018 in Milan by Barbara Lo Bianco. The distinctive purpose of the gallery is to support and promote mid-career and established artists in the creation of wearable artworks. While the concept of transforming artworks into wearable jewelers is not a new one, with numerous renowned historical artists having engaged in this practice, the Italian art world for such aspect had faded over time. The gallery’s primary objective is to reignite the enthusiasm for this enchanting but somehow forgotten tradition and to shed light on a frequently neglected facet of the art world. The process begins with the gallery inviting selected contemporary artists to design jewels conceived as small wearable sculptures: unique pieces or limited editions that are then showed in solo or group exhibitions among their most representative artworks. This approach provides visitors with a comprehensive and immersive experience, allowing them to delve into the artist’s world.
