Open ArtOpen Art

L’attività della galleria Open Art, nata nel 2001, alterna autori storicizzati con altri più giovani, nel segno della continuità e di una coerenza tra passato e presente. Due sono le linee principali della programmazione espositiva: la prima è esemplificata da artisti quali Toti Scialoja, Gerard Schneider e Jiri Kolàr ai quali la galleria dedica mostre che tendono a confermare anche l’attualità della loro pittura e del loro messaggio. Un‘attenzione particolare è dedicata allo sviluppo dell’approccio gestuale e, più specificatamente, all’Espressionismo Astratto americano con artisti quali Paul Jenkins, Conrad Marca-Relli, Norman Bluhm, Michael Goldberg, John Ferren, James Brooks e Sam Francis. L'altro ambito di interesse è quello relativo alla scultura del Novecento italiano che è illustrato, ad esempio, da artisti quali Francesco Somaini, Marino Marini, Mauro Staccioli, Quinto Ghermandi. In occasione di ogni mostra la Galleria Open Art pubblica un catalogo bilingue.

In its exhibition policy, Galleria Open Art deliberately alternates major figures of the twentieth-century art with younger ones, seeking continuity and consistency with the past and the present. There are two main approaches in our exhibition programmes: the former comprises of such artists as Toti Scialoja, Jiri Kolar and Gérard Schneider to whom the gallery has devoted retrospective exhibitions that have also tended to confirm the relevance of their paintings and messages. Specific attention is also given to the developments of the gestural approach and, more specifically, to the American Abstract Expressionism, with artists such as P. Jenkins, C. Marca-Relli, N. Bluhm, J. Brooks, M. Goldberg and S. Francis. Parallel to this, there is another area of interest: the Italian sculpture of the XX century, that is illustrated by such artists as F. Somaini, M. Marini, M. Staccioli, Q. Ghermandi. On the occasion of each exhibition, Galleria Open Art publishes a bilingual catalogue.
