La Galleria MAAB è stata fondata a Padova nel 2009 da Michael Biasi. Nel 2013 la galleria ha aperto un nuovo spazio espositivo nel centro di Milano. Fin dall’inizio dell’attività il lavoro di riscoperta di importanti artisti del panorama storico-artistico europeo, attivi dagli anni Cinquanta e Sessanta, è stato sostenuto dall’interesse per le continue evoluzioni del linguaggio dell’arte contemporanea internazionale. Con l’obiettivo di mostrare una continuità tra passato e presente, e al fine di intrecciare linguaggi espressivi e media diversi, maestri della seconda metà del Novecento, come Bruno Munari e Arman, si sono alternati ad artisti emergenti e mid-career, tra cui Alain Urrutia, Susanne Kutter e Franck Scurti. Le mostre sono spesso corredate da un catalogo che racconta, attraverso una selezione di immagini e documenti e le parole di un critico d’arte, il linguaggio dell’artista. MAAB Gallery cura l’Archivio Alberto Biasi ed è membro dell’Associazione Nazionale Gallerie d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (ANGAMC).
MAAB Gallery was founded in Padua in 2009 by Michael Biasi. In 2013 the gallery opened a new exhibition space in the centre of Milan. From the very start, the work of rediscovering important artists on the European historical-artistic panorama, those active from the 1950s and 1960s, was backed by an interest in the constant evolutions of contemporary international art language. With the aim of showing a continuity between past and present, and of interweaving diverse expressive languages and media, masters of the second half of the twentieth century such as Bruno Munari and Arman, were alternated with young emergent and mid-career artists including Alain Urrutia, Susanne Kutter and Franck Scurti. Particular care is given to technical considerations: each show is backed by a catalog that tells, through images, documents, and the words of an art critic, the art language of the artist. MAAB Gallery administers the Archivio Alberto Biasi and it’s a member of the National Association of Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries (ANGAMC).
