Monitor
Monitor è stata fondata da Paola Capata nel 2003. Sin dall'inizio della sua attività la galleria ha lavorato al fine di proporre agli artisti spazi e contesti tali da consentire un approccio sperimentale alle mostre. Durante i primi anni di attività si è rivolta ad artisti emergenti internazionali, esplorando diverse pratiche dalla scultura all'installazione, con una profonda attenzione al video. Dal 2010 la galleria ha esteso la sua attenzione ad altri media, in particolare alla pittura, sostenendo un eterogeneo e trans-generazionale gruppo di pittori. Nel 2014 Paola Capata apre uno spazio pop-up a New York, MONITOR Studio, che termina la sua attività come progetto di residenza per artisti nel 2015. Dopo quell'esperienza, nel 2017 è stata aperta la sede di Lisbona, pensata per avere natura permanente di spazio curatoriale e project-space. A settembre 2019 la galleria ha inaugurato la terza sede nel borgo abruzzese di Pereto.
Monitor has been founded by Paola Capata in fall 2003. Since the project's inception, the gallery has been focused in proposing to the artists spaces and contexts that could allow them an experimental approach to the exhibitions. During the first years of activity, most of its program was turned to international emerging artists, exploring diverse practices from sculpture to Installation-based work, with the largest core dedicated to video. Since the 2010s the gallery has broadened its attention to other media, especially painting - showcasing a heterogeneous and trans-generational rooster of painters. In 2014, Paola Capata opened a pop-up space in New York, MONITOR Studio, ending its activity as an Artists' Residency project in 2015. After that experience, the gallery opened a branch in Lisbon during 2017, which is meant to have a permanent, curatorial, project-space nature. In September 2019 the gallery opened its third venue in Pereto.
