Gruppo Euromobil under 30 Prize doubles
The ninth edition of the increasingly more authoritative Gruppo Euromobil under 30 Prize has permanently doubled.
After last year’s positive “number zero” it has now been decided to permanently add this second acknowledgement assigned directly by the general public to the traditional Prize awarded by a panel of experts. The winner of this Special Prize will be the work (and therefore the artist) to obtain the highest number of votes from visitors to Arte Fiera, to which will be added those from whoever wishes to assign votes after viewing the images of the contestants’ works on the website www.gruppoeuromobil.com.
As usual, the Jury’s Award will take the form of the purchase of the winning work, which will be added to the wonderful Gruppo Euromobil collection.
The search for the winner remains the same as when the Prize was founded by Gaspare, Antonio, Fiorenzo and Giancarlo Lucchetta, owners of Gruppo Euromobil and art collectors. Works by artists under 30 presented to Arte Fiera by any gallery can take part. This year the success of this event has stimulated the curators of Arte Fiera to boost the category “New Propositions” reserved exclusively for galleries specializing in young artists.
As well as the Prize, Gruppo Euromobil, with its Euromobil cucine, Zalf mobili and Désirée divani brands, leaders in furniture systems and complementary items, will once again be the main sponsor of the Bologna Fair. The Lucchetta brothers will meet visitors, gallery owners and artists in a special area “I luoghi dell’arte, i luoghi del design” (Art Space, Design Space) dedicated to selected designer products and the previous eight editions of the “Gruppo Euromobil under 30 Prize”.
The first edition of the Prize was won by Czech artist Jakub Nepraŝ, the second awarded the prize to an Italian, Paolo Maggis, the third edition was won by Lars Teichmann from Germany and the fourth by English artist Rob Sherwood, whereas the winner of the fifth edition was Italo-Lybian artist Adelita Husni-Bey. The sixth edition went to Nebojša Despotović and the seventh (2013) was shared by two Italian artists: Margherita Cesaretti and Valentina Miorandi. For last year’s edition, held in January 2014, the panel of experts awarded the prize to Nazzarena Poli Maramotti, an artist presented by the Brescia Gallery A+B Contemporay Art, for her work Onhe title. The general public chose 1638-1983 Construction by Emmanuele de Ruvo.
The panel of experts for the 2015 Euromobil Prize comprises: Gaspare, Antonio, Fiorenzo and Giancarlo Lucchetta, owners of Gruppo Euromobil and art collectors, Claudio Spadoni and Giorgio Verzotti, art directors of Arte Fiera, art critic Beatrice Buscaroli, Aldo Colonetti, IED scientific director and Cleto Munari, designer. The award ceremony will be held on Saturday 24 January 2015 at 4 p.m. in the area “I luoghi dell’arte, i luoghi del design”, Hall 25 Bologna Fiere.
