Gallery Directors

Galleria Forni has been one of the reference points for collectors of figurative painting and sculpture since 1967. After the death of Tiziano Forni, founder of the Gallery, his daughter Paola took over the direction in 2008. Over the years the gallery in Bologna supplemented its activities with other galleries, two of which areabroad, first in Amsterdam between the 70s and 80s, then in Tokyo until 1990 and, more recently, two others in Italy, in Milan until 2010 and Ragusa until 2011. Among the five hundred exhibitions held, shows of important artists of the 20th century, such as Giorgio Morandi, deserve to be mentioned, along with several group-shows involving important artists of the past and of the present time, demonstrating the continuity of figurative expression, such as "From Boccioni to Bacon", curated by M. Di Capua and V. Sgarbi. Drawing from a stable of established authors, the gallery has been renowned, throughout a long history, for its constant search of emerging artists.
