Montrasio Arte was founded in Monza in 1939 by Luigi Montrasio. Nowadays the gallery is dedicated to curate both historic and contemporary exhibitions, which cast a critique and innovative view on the work of established artists or artists whose works have been somewhat overlooked. In 1963 Alberto Montrasio started a very rich exhibitions season oriented on Contemporary Art. The most important exhibitions, we can mention are: R. Birolli, A. Chighine, R. Crippa, L. Fontana, F. Melotti, E. Morlotti, E. Scanavino, T. Parmeggiani, L.Cremonini, R. Guttuso, K. Plattner, A. Recalcati, B. Romagnoni, G. Zigaina. From 1990 with the direction of Francesca and Ruggero Montrasio, Montrasio Arte host exhibitions of Christo&Jeanne-Claude, Gordon Matta Clark, Angelo Savelli, Salvatore Scarpitta, Joseph Beuys, Dennis Oppenheim. The Gallery is also a publishing company (MontrasioArte Edizioni). The catalogue includes more than 100 titles and about 20 publications for Italian and foreign Museums.
