In attesa di riprendere la programmazione interrotta dall’emergenza in corso, metroquadro presenta una selezione di opere recenti di quattro artisti che caratterizzano la scelta stilistica della galleria.
Mel Bochner (Pittsburg, 1940), esponente di spicco del movimento concettuale negli anni ’60 e ’70, introduce il linguaggio come soggetto dell’arte, mettendone in discussione i rapporti, nella forma e nei contenuti, con la pittura.
David Row (Portland, 1949) laureato con lode alla Yale University nel 1972 e docente di pittura in istituzioni di prestigio, è un membro di spicco della generazione di artisti astratti come Peter Halley e Ross Bleckner. È conosciuto in particolare per le sue tele sagomate dai colori accesi.
Steve Sabella (Gerusalemme, 1975), pluripremiato artista concettuale, utilizza la fotografia come mezzo espressivo, impiegando frammenti del reale per creare una nuova dimensione. In mostra espone il recente trittico OnEarth, un viaggio personale in cui coinvolge l’immaginazione dell’osservatore. Parteciperà nella prossima collettiva al British Museum di Londra, che accoglie una sua opera in collezione permanente.
Con il suo “realismo fotografico”, Daniele Galliano (Pinerolo, 1961) è un pittore di primo piano nel panorama italiano. Espone fin dai primi anni ’90 in importanti mostre personali e collettive in tutto il mondo. Qui presenta le sua ultimissime serie Una Pazza Felicità e Let's Go, terminate poco prima dell’emergenza e dal titolo benaugurante.

Mel Bochner (Pittsburg, 1940), a leading figure of the Conceptual movement in the 1960s and 1970s, introduces language as the subject of art, questioning its relationships, in form and content, with painting.
David Row (Portland, 1949) a graduate with honors from Yale University in 1972 and a teacher of Painting in prestigious institutions, is a prominent member of the generation of Abstract artists such as Peter Halley and Ross Bleckner. He is known in particular for his bright-colored shaped canvases.
Steve Sabella (Jerusalem, 1975) is an award-winning conceptual artist who uses photography as an expressive medium, employing fragments of reality to create a new dimension. Here he exhibits the recent triptych OnEarth, a personal journey in which the observer's imagination is involved. One of his works is in the collection of the British Museum in London, which will be on show in the upcoming exhibition.
Thanks to his “photographic realism”, Daniele Galliano (Pinerolo, 1961) is a leading painter in the Italian scene. He’s been exhibiting since the early ’90s in important solo and collective exhibitions all over the world. In the exhibition, he presents his latest series Una Pazza Felicità (A Mad Happiness), and Let's Go carried out shortly before the emergency and with a title wishing us all a positive recovery.
