Montrasio Arte was founded in Monza in 1939; in 1964 started a very rich exhibition program on Contemporary Art, with exhibitions by Balla, Fontana, Melotti, Tancredi. Since its foundation, the gallery collaborates with national and international museums and institutions. Among the most recent collaborations: Romagnoni (Galleria del Credito Valtellinese, Milano 2014); Sutherland (Museo della Permanente, Milano 2011); Fontana (Museo Bodini, Varese 2006); Cremonini (Museo della Permanente, Milano 2002; Pinacoteca Nazionale, Bologna 2003). In 2007 the gallery created “Harlem Studio Fellowship by Montrasio Arte”, a non-profit artist-in-residence program in New York, which gave the chance to more than 40 international artists to live and work in New York for 3 months. Since the creation of the Milan venue in 2001, Montrasio Arte has been producing and promoting young artists’ works, often exhibiting them close to the Masters’ works.
