Montrasio Arte was founded in Monza in 1939. It deals with modern and contemporary art with a critical and innovative spin by relating different aspects of the artistic world. In 1963 Alberto Montrasio (son of founder Luigi Montrasio) takes over as director of the gallery, starting a rich exhibition program dedicated to contemporary art. Some of the most important exhibitions include: Renato Birolli, Alfredo Chighine, Roberto Crippa, Lucio Fontana, Fausto Melotti, Ennio Morlotti, Emilio Scanavino, Tancredi Parmeggiani, Leonardo Cremonini, Renato Guttuso, Karl Plattner, Antonio Recalcati, Bepi Romagnoni, Giuseppe Zigaina. Since 1990 Ruggero and Francesca Montrasio have continued the activity; in 1999 they opened the Milan branch, and in 2022 the Piacenza branch. Montrasio Arte is also a publishing house for (MontrasioArte Edizioni). The collection includes more than 100 titles and about 20 publications for Italian and foreign Museums.
