Pad. 26 Stand B/20
The name of the Menhir Gallery comes from a Breton term meaning "long stone", and refers to the Statue Stele - a type of menhir - recovered throughout the historic area of Lunigiana, in which La Spezia is located. Menhir began its exhibitions thirty years ago and is now a point of reference for local art and culture. In 2014, long-time director Alberto Rolla passes the helm to Sebastiano Calandra, a young Sicilian gallerist who relocated to La Spezia ten years ago to open his first gallery in Cinque Terre. The aim of the Menhir art gallery is to increase its activities through greater diversification of exhibition proposals, to be able to respond to an attentive, increasingly demanding and painstaking audience of collectors. 2016 was an important year, as in April the Menhir art gallery opened a second exhibition space in Milan.
