Menhir Arte Contemporanea was founded in 1984 in La Spezia by Alberto Rolla, with the aim to celebrate the land of his origins and at the same time to exemplify a desire to present a broader view through collaborations with international artists. In 2014, Sebastiano Calandra took over the gallery and opened a second venue in Milan two years later. Sebastiano Calandra, thanks to his longtime experience in the art sector, started an accurate research and expansion activity, paying meticulous attention to maintaining high levels of quality of the artworks presented to collectors. Through its annual exhibition programme, Menhir Arte Contemporanea presents a growing yet coherent range of established artists, selecting and promoting them in the most accurate way. The last and upcoming exhibitions presented works by Carlo Battaglia, Noël Dolla, Winfred Gaul, Edgar Hofschen, Jürgen Knubben, Joe Tilson, and Gianfranco Zappettini.
