Metroquadro opened in 2008 in Rivoli, exhibiting works by the photographers Erwin Olaf and Steve Sabella. Since 2009 it has exhibited two solo shows by the American Shara Hughes, recently included in the Whitney Biennial 2017, and four solo shows by the American master Mel Bochner. In 2011 the gallery organized in Torino “The Changing Room”, a show curated by the Egyptian Aida Eltorie and Martina Corgnati, presenting 15 middle-East artists, during the same period that the Arab Springs started. In 2016 it moved to its actual location in the center of Turin and it’s one of the five founder galleries of the newborn COLLA project, in which they have joined forces to research and promote contemporary art. Metroquadro also promotes the work of the American Monique Rollins and the Italians Franco Tosi, Marco Memeo and The Bounty Killart, while participating regularly in Art Fairs in the USA (Miami and NY) since 2013.
