Otto Zoo was founded by Francesca Guerrizio and Maurizio Azzali in 2008. The gallery proposes an experimental approach towards all the practices of the contemporary art world. The program focuses on young – middle career artists, both Italian and international. After Maurizio Azzali’s passing, Francesca Guerrizio, with gallery director Annika Pettini, has started a program mainly based on site-specific shows at the Milan space. The gallery also produces special projects outside the Milan space, such as a site specific installation by Sebastiano Mauri for The Sculpture Park in Jaipur, India (2018); a T-yong Chung performance for The ACAW festival in New York City (2017); and a one year art project for the Hotel Locarno in Rome (2014). In 2013, in New York, Otto Zoo was awarded the Pulse prize for its Marjolijn De Wit solo booth.
