Montrasio Arte was founded in Monza in 1939.At that time the gallery presented mostly paintings from 19th and 20th century. In 1963 with Alberto Montrasio a very rich exhibitions season oriented to Contemporary Art started, showing important artists like Giacomo Balla, Lucio Fontana, Fausto Melotti, Emilio Scanavino. More recently under the direction of Francesca and Ruggero Montrasio, the gallery hosted the exhibitions of international and national artists as Salvatore Scarpitta, Joseph Beuys, Dennis Oppenheim, Angelo Savelli. Since the foundation, Montrasio Arte collaborates with important Museums and Institutions. Among the most recent collaborations: Joseph Beuys (Fondazione Ivan Bruschi, Arezzo); Bepi Romagnoni (Galleria del Credito Valtellinese, Milano); Graham Sutherland (Museo della Permanente, Milano). Since the creation of the Milan venue in 2001, Montrasio Arte has been producing, exposing and promoting young artists’ works, often exhibiting them close to Master’s works.
