Tornabuoni Arte was founded in Florence in 1981 in Via Tornabuoni, on the initiative of Roberto Casamonti. In addition to the gallery's headquarters in Lungarno Cellini, throughout the years Tornabuoni Arte opened locations in Milan (1995), in Forte dei Marmi (2004), two galleries in Florence – Tornabuoni Arte Antica (2006), and three more in Europe: Crans-Montana in Switzerland (1993), Paris (2009), and London (2015). Each year Tornabuoni Arte's galleries organize exhibitions to display a selection of great international artists of the XX century, such as Basquiat, Christo, Dubuffet, Kandinsky, Hartung, Lam, Matta, Mirò, Picasso, Poliakoff and Warhol, together with the main artists of the Italian Art history, like Balla, Boetti, Burri, Castellani, Ceroli, De Chirico, Dorazio, Fontana, Manzoni, Marini, Morandi, Pomodoro, Scheggi, just to name a few. During the annual traveling exhibition activities, each gallery organizes both solo shows on well-known or promising young artists and exhibitions on the Avant-gardes of the post WWII.
