BPER Prize

BPER PRIZE

The BPER Prize, devoted to enhancing feminine themes, debuted in 2024 and is part of the BPER Group’s traditional value structure focused on inclusion and against gender violence, united with the promotion of culture and art. In the two editions offered so far, BPER has acquired the winning work, now displayed in the contemporary art space of the BPER Gallery corporate collection, thereby providing visibility to the artist and to the work (included in organized exhibits) after the conclusion of Arte Fiera.

With almost 23 thousand employees and about 6 million customers, the BPER Bank Group is one of Italy’s largest bank groups. It has always supported projects aimed at promoting all forms and expressions of culture. BPER Gallery was created in 2017: not just a place, but a wide-ranging project that safeguards, conserves, and presents one of Italy's largest corporate collections, with about ten thousand art works, over 3 thousand of which are masterpieces. In line with the mission of the BPER brand, the Gallery supports an active, open, stimulating culture that creates links with local areas and among people by means of real, constantly evolving initiatives such as exhibits and events.

Winning artist: Silvia Giambrone
Title of work: Mirror n.18, 2022, (wax, brass, acacia thorns, 95x57x13 cm)
Gallery: Richard Saltoun (Hall 26, A2)
Motivation: the jury for the third BPER Prize, composed of Sabrina Bianchi, Lara Conte, and Daniela Ferrari, unanimously chose Mirror n.18 (2022) by Silvia Giambrone, presented by the Richard Saltoun Gallery. For years, Giambrone has conducted a courageous and resolute research on themes concerning relations among body, violence, power, subjectivity, and empowerment. Her poetics, revealing the latency of values and behaviors that evade respect, are expressed by means of multiple, elegant, straightforward elements that strike the viewer and transmit a reflection on inclusion, enhancement of gender differences, and social issues from the feminine perspective: all themes in line with the requisites of the BPER Prize. The work will enter the collection of the BPER Gallery.

Special mention: Silvia Inselvini
Title of work: Notturni N. 147, 2025, (ballpoint pen on paper, 120x105 cm)
Gallery: Atipografia (Hall 25, B78)
Motivation: the jury assigned a special mention to Notturni n. 147 (2025) by Silvia Inselvini, presented by the Atipografia Gallery. Inselvini’s research is based on writing that becomes chromatic surface through a patient and repetitive gesture, exploring the temporality of work.
