Pinksummer, founded and directed by Antonella Berruti and Francesca Pennone, was opened in Genoa in 2000. Since 2005, the gallery is based in Palazzo Ducale. The peculiarity of Pinksummer is to operate in a city overlooking the Mediterranean, liminal with respect to contemporary cultural production and its market, historically the scene of important events: these environmental factors are the background to the free and sometimes radical research carried out by Pinksummer, through the work of artists called upon to produce exhibitions on themes dear to the gallery, such as the relationship between nature and society, also through a utopian spatial view of architectural matrix. ‘Pinksummer goes to’ is a project that the gallery has been carrying out since 2016, which moves from the need to compare itself with other contexts such as the city of Rome, Palermo, the Ligurian Apennines, Milan. Pinksummer refers to a painting by Takashi Murakami presented in the gallery' first exhibition.
