Alessia Calarota

Maggiore g.a.m. was founded in 1978 by Franco and Roberta Calarota who immediately started a serious activity of documentation, knowledge and mediation of the major names in Italian art. Under the direction of their daughter Alessia, the gallery is increasingly opening up to contemporary art and relaunches historical names proposing them in continuity with living generations. The dialogues offered, such as A dialogue of light. Giorgio Morandi. Ettore Spalletti, should be read in this sense, as well as the collaborations with museums and institutions (including the Metropolitan Museum, the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, etc) and the public commissions, as Arman’s Rampante monument dedicated to Ferrari. The gallery takes part to the most important international fairs, including Art Basel (Basel, Miami, Hong Kong), Tefaf (Maastricht, New York), The Armory Show. Since 2019 Franco and Roberta Calarota have opened a more institutional reality in Venice: ACP - Palazzo Franchetti.
