The New Many is a classroom dedicated to the practices, forms, and economies of artist’s editions in contemporary art and visual culture. Curated by Lorenzo Micheli Gigotti and Francesco Spampinato, in collaboration with the Second Cycle Degree in Visual Arts at the Department of the Arts, University of Bologna, the project unfolds within the Multiples section of ARTEFIERA 49 as a public-facing space for study, exchange, and production.
Conceived as a temporary platform for active observation and collective learning, the classroom investigates the notion of the multiple in its expanded, post-digital condition: from printed editions to art objects, from design and merchandise to artist records, digital practices, and NFTs. Through talks, working sessions, and on-site research activities, The New Many brings together artistic, curatorial, and production practices that critically engage with questions of reproducibility, distribution, and the circulation of cultural materials.

from 12:00 to 12:50 Padiglione Esprit Nouveau
Wardrobe (2025), a new project conceived specifically for the Padiglione de l’Esprit Nouveau, combines a site-specific architectural presentation with a performance by the artist in person. Inspired by the dual nature of the Padiglione – manifesto of modernist ideals and prototype of the machine à habiter (a house is a machine for living) – Naamani transforms the building into a sort of large wardrobe in which she stages daily life through the act of ironing. By means of a simple and repeated gesture, Naamani transforms this domestic action into a critical device, revealing the ways in which the body becomes part of, adapts to, and renegotiates the spatial and functional systems of daily life.
Admission is free and no booking is required. You do not need to purchase a ticket for Arte Fiera to attend the performance. Please note that the daily ticket (1 entry) does not allow you to leave and re-enter the fair. We therefore recommend that you visit the Padiglione before entering Arte Fiera or when you leave. Each performance lasts approximately 75 to 90 minutes.
