The book, published for the homonymous exhibit at the Milan Triennial as part of the celebrations of the institution’s centenary, presents works created from 2020 to 2023 by 119 of the most interesting Italian artists born between 1960 and 2000, with the aim of highlighting the richness and complexity of contemporary Italian painting in all of its declinations and aspects. The book contains numerous critical essays – a historical review of Italian painting from 1959 to 1979, the story of the presence of mural painting at the Triennial, analyses of the contemporary painting scene, etc. – by some of the world’s most important critics and curators, as well as images and descriptions of individual works.
