LAURA CHERUBINI

Laura Cherubini has been a lecturer in History of Art at the Brera Academy in Milan since 1992. From 2011 to 2017 she served as vice president of the MADRE museum in Naples. She curated the Italian pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 1990 and has curated numerous exhibitions at Italian and international institutions, including Villa Arson, Nice; Fondazione Merz, Turin; PS1-MoMA, New York; the Torun museum; the Vasarely museum, Budapest; the Alex Mylona museum, Athens; MAXXI, Rome; MACRO, Rome; GNAM, Rome; Arte Carrillo Gil museum, Mexico City; Desarrollo des Artes, Cuba; GAM, Turin. She has published monographs on De Dominicis, Ettore Spalletti, Grazia Toderi, Massimo Bartolini, Vettor Pisani, Alighiero Boetti, Fabio Mauri, Paola Pivi. She is involved with the cultural archives of Boetti, Mario Schifano, Franco Angeli, Fabio Mauri, Vettor Pisani and Elisabetta Catalano, of which she is the artistic director. She edits the series Le chiavi dell’arte (the keys to art) for the publisher Christian Marinotti and writes regularly for Flash Art (on Italian and international art). She won the Luigi Carluccio Award for young critics in 1990 and the Arte Sostantivo Donna award for the promotion of Italian art and culture in 2017.
