Gallery Directors

The Contrasto Galleria was open in 2005, sharing the location with the Fondazione Forma in an historical building on Piazza Tito Lucrezio Caro in Milan. Over the years, the gallery became the reference point for both the experienced collector and the absolute beginner in the field of photography, offering the possibility of acquiring both vintage and modern prints of great Italian and international masters and emerging artists. In 2014, the gallery moved to Via Ascanio Sforza in Milan. Among the most relevant exhibitions are: Sebastião Salgado, “Genesi”; Alex Webb’s work in India; the stunning reportage of Gianni Berengo Gardin on the cruise ships in Venice. Also noteworthy are the solo shows dedicated to internationally renowned artists like Herbert List, Kenro Izu, Erwin Olaf, Irene Kung, Bill Armstrong, Paolo Ventura. The gallery also collaborates with public institutions, such as Milan Expo 2015, for which the Cluster project has been curated.
