The activity of gallerist Mimmo Scognamiglio in the cultural life of Naples started in 1995 with the opening of the gallery “Scognamiglio e Teano”; the human experience and visual practice acquired while working with Lucio Amelio allowed Mimmo Scognamiglio to develop a very personal exhibiting style. In 2000, the gallery changed its name to “Mimmo Scognamiglio artecontemporanea”. In 2007, Mimmo Scognamiglio opened the doors of his new exhibition area in Milan with a new solo show by Antony Gormley. In 2011, the gallerist moved to Via Ventura 6 in Lambrate, where together with other galleries he has collaborated on creating of a new art neighbourhood in Milan. In 2015, Scognamiglio finally returned to the heart of the city, in Via Goito 7, and inaugurated the new gallery with an exhibition celebrating 20 years of activity as a gallerist.
