Gallery Directors

Founded in the center of Rome in 2012 by art historian, Ursula Hawlitschka Ph.D, the gallery represents international contemporary artists working in a variety of disciplines. The space is mainly dedicated to exhibit and promote young international artists whose work results in innovative and striking pieces both conceptually and concerning the level of execution. We collaborate closely with our artists and are committed to contextualize their work by publishing illustrated exhibition catalogues with scholarly essays. Often the artists'work is based on a contemporary reinterpretation of their cultural roots and the traditions of their land of origin. Montoro 12 believes that contemporary art can greatly contribute to the understanding of different cultures and encourage artists to experiment with new technologies and to participate in public art projects. It also host numerous cultural events in the gallery and promotes our artists by collaborating with public collections and museums
