Data breach notice

This is to inform you that on 21 May 2022 BolognaFiere S.p.A. reported a data breach occurred in the context of processing activities under its responsibility as data controller. The breach exposed personal data collected for the organization of a fair. The violation of confidentiality was caused by the malfunctioning of a service provided by a third-party company acting as data processor on behalf of BolognaFiere S.p.A.

On 24 May 2022 BolognaFiere S.p.A. notified the data breach in question to the Italian Data Protection Authority pursuant to Article 33 of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”).

The technical assessments carried out after the breach revealed that the incident led to the breach of confidentiality, while the integrity and availability of the data were not compromised. Furthermore, the personal data in question do not belong to special categories under Article 9 of the GDPR.

In its capacity as data controller, BolognaFiere S.p.A. promptly implemented adequate technical and organisational measures that allowed to restore the confidentiality of the personal data affected.

In accordance with the applicable law and by virtue of its commitment to transparency, BolognaFiere S.p.A. does therefore communicate the aforesaid data breach.
