Officina Arte Ducati Award

DUCATI AWARD

Since 2024, Ducati has been a partner of Arte Fiera, the exhibition that in the last 50 years has become one of the most important events on the national and international art scene, while remaining firmly linked to Bologna and the local territory – the same territory in which Ducati has its roots.

For the 2026 edition, the Ducati Award extends to all of Hall 25 (dedicated to contemporary art) and acquires even greater significance this year, celebrating the hundredth anniversary of Ducati’s founding.

Starting from the claim that expresses the celebration - A Century Made of Seconds -, the Award exemplifies the qualities that define it: intensity, speed, and dynamism are the characteristics that describe both Ducati’s history and artistic research beginning in the early 20 th century.
Specifically, A Century Made of Seconds emphasizes the value of every moment that remains impressed in memory, that becomes unforgettable: distilling and rearranging time into moments of intensity, as occurs in flashes of artistic creation.

In one of the most influential texts on modernity (The Harvard Lectures – Six Memos for the Next Millennium), Italo Calvino identified lightness and quickness as two concepts and qualities that project literary and artistic works into the new millennium. Elegance and agility as precision, but also as mobility and naturalness, and above all as effortless performance, which in art expresses the idea of not flaunting one’s strength, but rather of translating complexity into grace and elegance.

Therefore, in the next edition, the Award will be assigned to the work which, in both form and concept, expresses these characteristics to the utmost.
